Awarded to an undergraduate for scholastic excellence. |
| Clarence A. Hall Summer Field Scholarship |
Provides support for summer field research, based on academic performance. The fund was established to honor Clarence A. Hall, professor emeritus. |
| Walter S. Harris Summer Field Award |
Conferred for scholastic excellence to summer field students. This award was endowed by Mrs. Charlotte Harris Johnston in memory of ESS Department Alumnus Walter Stephan Harris (MA ’58). |
| Clem Nelson Summer Field Award |
Conferred for scholastic excellence to summer field students. This fund was established in memory of ESS Professor Emeritus, Clem Nelson. |
Graduate or Undergraduate Support |
| Ken Watson Scholarship/Fellowship |
Providing undergraduate and graduate students with support for field trips, conference expenses, and other departmentally related activities, services, and needs. This scholarship was established by Mrs. Mary Watson and her children in memory of Department faculty member, Ken Watson. |
Graduate Support |
| W. Gary Ernst Graduate Student Support Fund |
The Ernst Fund offers fellowship support for a graduate student specializing in the areas of petrology and tectonics, and was endowed by Emeritus Professor W. Gary Ernst and his colleagues and former students. |
| W.W. Rubey Fellowship |
W.W. Rubey Fellowship-awarded to a graduate student to cover field and related expenses in their dissertation research. This award honors the memory of Department faulty member, W.W. Rubey. |
| Horodyski Prize |
Provides support for graduate student for field work. |
| ESS Excellence in Teaching award |
Given to ESS graduate TAs for exceptional teaching performance. |
General Department |
| General Department program support |
To provide general department program support, purchase or upgrade of educational equipment, support visitor speaker program, etc., under the direction of the department chair. |
