Andrea L. Bonnicksen: Andrea Bonnicksen is Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at Northern Illinois University. She is the author of In Vitro Fertilization: Building Policy from Laboratories to Legislatures (Columbia University Press, 1989) and Civil Rights and Liberties: Principles of Interpretation (Mayfield). She is also co-editor with Robert Blank of Emerging Issues in Biomedical Policy, a three-volume series (Columbia University Press). In 1990-91, Dr. Bonnicksen was a Rockefeller Foundation Fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch, studing genetics and public policy. She has published in the Hastings Center Report, Cambridge Quarterly of Healthcare Ethics, Politics and Life Sciences, and American Journal of Medical Genetics on issues related to preimplantation genetic diagnosis of human embryos, human embryo freezing, germline gene therapy, fetal egg donation, and human embryo twinning. She is a member of the Ethics Committee of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
